First of all we would like to wish you a warm welcome to the #DarkspotsBoxOne – What’s in the Box? Here we will be detailing the box contents included in our very first subscription box! Immediately this makes us terribly excited that we actually get to ship out boxes to those interested and more importantly those willing to better their all-round mental health and become more mindful of the stresses of everyday life.
We don’t claim to be medical experts but what we do have is a heart and a mind that is fully devoted to your well-being.
Without further ado we present to you Darkspots box number one with its beautifully thought out contents, enjoy!
Now you’re probably thinking a Banana, really? Yes, a banana is the perfect healthy and mindful snack, working wonders for the brain helping produce serotonin which unleashes those waves of positivity into your mind. We always keep a much needed stock of them wherever we are, that tummy rumble is bound to come at some point.
Here we have for you a set of three notebooks, open them carefully because these are likely to be your bible from now on. Once open take the first page and write your name, this book is now yours and no one else has to know about it. There are three books, one for the positives about your day, taking each day as it comes and noting down just one small or perhaps large upbeat thing that you accomplished. The positive could be small like making it through a shopping trip in public or as big as landing yourself a new job. Book number two is for the not so goods (we’re not a fan) take the next page to write down a bad feeling you have about the day or how you’re feeling - always making sure to counter this with why maybe it isn’t such a bad thing. For example: everyone was against me, looking at me in a strange way; counter: maybe they’re looking at me because I’m unique, I’m me and I need to be confident with who I am. Then the final book is for whatever you choose, drawings, notes or something we enjoy which is list making; writing down all the things we have on our mind and want to begin to accomplish in the near future.
Jar of Thoughts
An empty mason jar, use it for crafting, decorate it how you wish, cover me in stickers or just scribble your name. The target we’re setting you if you’re not one for notebooks is to put a small strip of paper with the biggest thing you accomplished today written on, take some of the notebook paper if you like. Once you’ve written it down screw it up or neatly fold if you’re super OCD (like us) and put it into the jar, then on a dull day you can look back through them, reminding yourself just how much you really have accomplished.
Pukka Relax Tea
Need we tell you how to make a cup of tea? Boil some water, being careful not to spill, please don’t hurt yourself, pour into your favourite mug, then drop in a bag after a long, tiring day or in the morning to get off to a good start - the choice is yours. Just make sure you have to time sit and enjoy your drink in peace.
The Not Meditation Technique
Aimed directly at those under immense stress and feeling as though life is getting on top of them instead of the other way around. The instructions are all there all that’s left to do is read, practice and repeat.
Something that will remain constant throughout our boxes are the dark spots within them, an uplifting thought, inspirational quote or a task for you to carry out. The details are all in the spot, keep it with you if you like to remind yourself that happiness and being mentally well are never too far away.
